Simple Health
How to live well in an imperfect world.
Much of 2025 found me squirrelled away in my attic, slowly writing a new book.
The idea itself has been forming for many years. But bringing it to life meant sifting through a vast and varied collection of healthcare knowledge and experiences. Turning my inklings over over, questioning them, researching furiously and gradually seeing how it all might connect. Doggedly trying to find the bigger picture hiding beneath the little details.
The result? Simple Health.
Part radical common sense, and part compassionately practical guide. A deceptively simple, grounded counterbalance to the extraordinary cacophony of noise that seems to surround health and wellness these days. An invitation, and a permission slip, to take it back to the brilliant basics that actually work - in real, imperfect, everyday life.
I’m currently exploring publishing options.
Is this a book you’d like to read?
Part 1: Knowing: What really matters for my health?
Explore the Wheel of Health framework: six interconnected areas of everyday wellbeing - nutrition, movement, rest, sleep, mindset, health responsibility, and connection - and what, exactly, each area requires as a baseline. But more importantly, how do all of these areas interact with each other? And why does balance mean that Good Enough is often more effective than perfection? This is health information without the hype; simple, achievable, affordable, and wildly effective (with the data to prove it).
Part 2: Doing: Turning ideas into daily habits
Health may be simple, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. In fact, being consistently healthy in today’s busy world is often really hard. Why? Because we’re all facing a unique combination of 5 hidden barriers that are sneakily tripping us up. Some we might be very familiar with (like a lack of time or money), and many we probably hadn’t ever heard or thought about. But being unaware of barriers doesn’t make them disappear; it makes us more likely to bump into them - and unfortunately, often then blame ourselves for doing so.
Instead, we need to switch on the floodlights so we can honestly see what we’re facing, and then begin clearing our path to consistency. That is made simple with the CLEAR method framework; a systematic, practical and doable approach to working around our unique barriers, and making lasting change finally feel doable.
You’ll finish this book with crystal clarity about what really matters when it comes to health, and where best to prioritise your limited time, energy and headspace. In doing so, you’ll also gain the confidence to let all the bombarding health noise simply float on by. Because once you know what works for you, you no longer need to engage with the emotionally manipulative marketing that overcomplicates and overwhelms.
But more importantly, you’ll also be able to turn knowing into consistent doing. Step-by-step, you’ll build the bridges towards taking meaningful action. Knowledge on its own changes little; but becoming an expert at translating knowledge into daily habits not by force, but by making it easy, is when the remarkable changes can finally occur.
What if health isn’t as complicated as we’ve been sold?
What if simple worked better?
Who this book is for:
People who want to feel better, but find most health advice frustrating, confusing or overwhelming and need a knowledge re-set.
People who know what to do, but can’t quite seem to consistently do it.
People who are fed up with the marketing nonsense, over-hyped promises and reliance on expensive routines, programmes, supplements or gadgets - and now just want the honest truth.
People who have a lot going on, and need a simple, effective approach to follow.
Professionals who need to understand how to help clients or patients truly change their health behaviour, rather than adding ever more knowledge.
People who are feeling stuck, unsure, tired, and generally not-quite-right, who need help to get things rolling in a more positive direction.
